Cookie Policy
This website is operated by Inspectorqr Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under Company No. 17277545, whose registered office is at 43 Weaste Road, Salford, M5 5HL. This policy explains what this website stores in your browser and what your choice on the banner actually controls. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. The short version
This website sets no advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers and no social media pixels. It stores one item, in your own browser, to remember whether you pressed Accept or Decline. Nothing about that item is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
2. Categories
Strictly necessary — always active
These are needed for the site to work and to respect a choice you have already made. Under Regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 they do not require consent, because storing your own preference is exempt.
Analytics — optional, and currently switched off
We do not operate an analytics provider on this website at present. Nothing is counted, measured or profiled, whichever button you press. The banner asks for your consent so that the preference is already recorded should we enable anonymous page-view counting in future; if we do, this policy will be updated with the provider's name, the cookies it sets and their lifetimes before it goes live, and it will run only for visitors who have accepted.
Marketing and advertising — not used
We do not run any, and we have no plans to. If that ever changed, it would require a fresh consent from you rather than a reuse of an old one.
3. What is stored right now
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
irsoftware_cookies |
Local storage (not a cookie in the technical sense, but treated as one here) | Records whether you pressed Accept or Decline so the banner does not reappear on every page | Until you clear your browser storage, or 12 months, whichever comes first |
That is the complete list. Our web server also writes standard access logs containing IP addresses, which is server-side record-keeping rather than browser storage; those are covered in section 2 of the Privacy Policy and are kept for 30 days.
4. What Accept and Decline do
- Accept records your consent for optional analytics. Because no analytics provider is enabled, nothing additional loads today.
- Decline records your refusal. No optional storage will ever be set on this browser while that choice stands, including if we enable analytics later.
Both buttons are ordinary buttons of equal prominence. Declining costs you no functionality on this site.
5. Changing your mind
Clear this site's data in your browser and the banner returns on your next visit, letting you choose again. In Chrome and Edge this is under Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies, See all site data and permissions; in Safari, under Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data; in Firefox, under Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data. Most browsers also allow you to block storage for a site outright, though doing so means the banner cannot remember your answer and will reappear each visit.
6. Third-party content
This website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts and its animation library from Cloudflare's public CDN. These requests are needed to render the page and are made whichever choice you make. Both providers receive the standard information any web request carries, including your IP address, and neither sets a cookie on this site. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies.
